Yes it is that time of year again for all things Kentucky Heartland Festival 2010 – “Thank You From the Heartland!” – A Salute to Vietnam Veterans! We are moving the Baby Contest event from Freeman Lake Park to the Towne Mall, 1704 North Dixie, Elizabethtown, KY this Sunday, August 22, 2010! We hope this change will make it easier on the contestants being in air-conditioning & what better place to be than at Towne Mall – Center Stage. If you want to enter a special child or pass on to another please do so. We will accept registrations at the Chamber office & then on Sunday at the Towne Mall.

In addition, the carnival rides will be open featuring several of your favorite children's rides in the new location of "KHF Kiddieland" behind the previous Cott Building. Rides included in Friday night – Free Kiddie rides 5:00 - 8:00 p m – those rides are Small Kiddie rides – Strawberries, Cars, Boats, Merry-go-round, Kiddie ferris-wheel, kiddie swing, Wild thing slide, Moon bounce, Titantic & Twister blow-up.

Please join us during the 2010 Kentucky Heartland Festival at the AG Village. It will be located on 2 acres just inside the main Freeman Lake Park entrance. Open Saturday-August 28th from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. The theme is "Agriculture: Growing Heroes and Industry" and the focus will be on changes in Agriculture from the Vietnam Era (1960's) to present (50 years). The Village involves 6 major display/demonstration areas and approximately 24 educational booths/displays.
The traveling Vietnam Wall will be available to visit from August 26-29th at the Patton Museum, Fort Knox, KY. This exhibit is sponsored by Booz, Allen & Hamilton and is a tribute to those that lost their life during the Vietnam War. Hours are Thursday, Friday (9:00am to 4:30pm) and Saturday & Sunday (10:00 am to 6:00 pm).

Kentucky Heartland Festival Parade: Help us say Thank You to Vietnam Veterans during the Kentucky Heartland Festival Parade on Saturday-August 28, 2010. The parade begins at 10:00 am and includes over 120 entries. Bring your flag and fly your colors. This year's Grand Marshall is Adrian Cronauer, who was made famous by the movie "Good Morning Vietnam" staring Robin Williams.
